Job summary

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Material Technical Support Branch C244.24, Engineering and Planning Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Major duties

You will lead and monitor performance along with the progress of assigned work of junior engineering technicians and shop planners at the GS-12 level or below. You will ensure products and services are fully aligned with Engineering Technical Authority (ETA) responsibilities and local expectations. You will identify and evaluate risks. You will utilize resources to support efforts with other engineering technical codes, Quality Assurance Department's Receipt Inspection Division, and the Supply Department to resolve technical issues associated with material. You will review material test reports, certificates of conformance, determine material compliance with specifications and requirements, and liaison with vendors to resolve discrepancies. You will make determinations of First Article Testing requirements and prioritize workload and resources to support project and production shop schedules and Short- and Long-Range View while minimizing work stoppages. You will be responsible for the resolution of quality technical material issues for controlled and non-controlled material and various processes used by Engineering, Receipt Inspection, and Production codes.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering methods and techniques to interpret and analyze technical requirements, specifications, and test data for quality and safety validation of engineering materials, products, services, and systems used in support of the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of shipboard systems.
