Job summary
You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.
Major duties
You will provide oversight of the development, coordination and management of the integrated Test Plan (ITP). You will review work items for proper testing requirements and ensures all Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) will be provided. You will identify testing key events and milestones that may be required in addition to production key events and milestones. You will develop and/or coordinate test schedules with Project Support Engineers (PSE), test site personnel, and other organizations involved in the test events to provide information and status to the project team. You will review completed Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for I-level testing and certify results. You will spot check "in progress" testing to verify the sequencing of testing, procedures and methods. You will prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishment and administrative information as required. You will conduct formal debriefs with the ships utilizing professional briefing techniques. You will compile, evaluate, and recommend corrective action for certification process or procedural deficiencies discovered during execution. You will apply knowledge of related engineering disciplines to include electrical, electronic, mechanical, and structural in order to analyze problems and determine required level of support from an overall equipment/systems viewpoint. You will ensure all tests are scheduled, coordinated, and to manage the execution of comprehensive integrated system testing of shipboard systems.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing and managing integrated test plans for ship systems to identify and resolve technical engineering issues pertaining to ship overhaul, repair, or test procedures and requirements.
