Job summary

You will serve as an Electronics Mechanic Supervisor I in the Production Resources Department, Electrical shop at the PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

You will fully support the Equal Employment Opportunity Program. You will supervise subordinates performing various tasks in the shop and aboard vessels and crafts assigned for overhaul and repair. You will plan the sequence of operations and work steps for groups of employees supervised. You will plan the division of workload among employees based on capabilities and availability of employees, materials, and equipment. You will estimate and requisition tools, materials, and equipment needed and determine most efficient use. You will inspect work in progress and upon completion to assure efficiency, economy, and safety of operation.

Troubleshoot. Calibrate for accuracy. Modify, design. Able to determine proper operation. 5. Knowledge of principles, basic functions, and applications, including electromagnetism, alternating current, direct current, vacuum tubes, circuit analysis, rectification, detection, modulation, transmission, wave propagation, oscillation, amplification, feedback, resonance, filters and crystal action. Ability to use related mathematics. Apply theory knowledge to circuit tracing, isolating defective components, or alignment of complete systems. Perform experimental and prototype work. Utilizes the latest techniques. Able to practice in one or more specializations such as microwave, data recording, missile guidance systems, timing, pulse techniques, communications, radar, etc. Understanding of capacitance, resistance, induction, frequency, and wavelength. 6. Ability to develop technically adequate plans for a complex operation. Examples include: Planning and organizing work for a crew where judgment involves considering individual abilities. Developing plans and organizing work for a large group of employees; giving.
