Job summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major duties
You will primarily provide shipboard personnel with authoritative technical assistance in resolving problems that are beyond their capability or scope of knowledge on Electronic Systems onboard U.S. Navy ships and submarines. You will be responsible for providing technical assistance on Electronic Systems to include, but are not limited to, Communication, Navigation, Sonar, Combat Control, Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Periscopes and IT Networks. You will be responsible for resolving complex problems in a stressful environment and while under constant pressure for rapid results to meet operational schedules. You will perform shipboard assessments of cognizant systems, working with Type Commanders and In-Service Engineering Activities (ISEA) to identify and resolve problems with Technical Manuals or work procedures. You will provide highly skilled technical engineering support services for complex shipboard Submarine Combat control systems, associated weapon launch systems and various interfaces to other dependent systems. You will serve as the representative for shipboard technical assistance on functional problems that are determined to be beyond the capability of the organizational level, Intermediate Maintenance Level Activities and ship repair facilities.
Qualification
For GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing electronics technical services in support of shipboard weapons launch systems to include the testing and technical assistance for diagnosing and resolving problems during ship repair or overhaul activities. For GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing electronics technical services in support of the testing and inspection of shipboard weapons launch systems to diagnose and resolve problems during ship repair or overhaul activities.
