Major duties

You will recognize the need for improvements to Master Clock and time transfer electronics systems, subsystems, components, connections, and their associated electrical power systems; and design, modify, build, assemble, repair, and maintain them. You will physically install electronic circuits and cables, moving equipment and clocks, general maintenance, and similar work. You will assist the different time transfer divisions with respective missions. You will recognize the need for new techniques, particularly of electronic nature, and develop them using nonstandard theory, taking into account the complex dependencies between the Master Clock and other time transfer systems and subsystems.

Qualification

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience utilizing electrical concepts, theories, principles and practices and utilizing electrical system test equipment. *Experience installing electrical systems. *Experience performing electrical system maintenance. *Experience troubleshooting electronics systems. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience utilizing electrical concepts, theories, principles and practices and utilizing electrical system test equipment. *Experience installing electrical systems. *Experience performing electrical system maintenance. *Experience troubleshooting electronics systems. Education

Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: GS-11: NO SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE GS-09: SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree. Education must be directly related to the work of the position. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
