Job summary

You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I (VLFT) in the NAVAL RADIO STATION of NRS T JIM CREEK.

Major duties

You will supervise a twelve-person department in the technical operation/maintenance and repair of the AN/FRT-3 VLF radio transmitter system. You will be responsible for the technical operation and repair of all communication system and equipment. You will schedule work assignments to employees in accordance with established leave schedules, maintenance schedules, test criteria, equipment history, operation schedules and operational analysis. You will develop, implement and administer departmental training program. You will maintain employee attendance records, process leave requests, prepare performance appraisal ratings, and fulfill equal employment and affirmative action goals. You will ensure employees are provided with the necessary tools, parts, and material required to perform their assigned duties. You will furnish the Officer-in Charge with information pertaining to operational and maintenance problems, material and/or repair parts required hazardous maintenance and/or operating conditions and similar information. You will serve as Communication Officer and supervise the operation of the message center, ensure training of department personnel to maintain proper security in the message center. You will be required to maintain of plant account, sub-custody inventories, records, and submit other required recurring reports.
