Job summary

You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC in the CRANE MAINTENANCE DIVISION OF THE LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, test and install industrial electronic controlled equipment. You will work on microprocessors, computers and associated peripheral equipment such as keyboards, as well as any other industrial transportation equipment with electronic controls or devices. You will perform diagnostic troubleshooting techniques to isolate faults using a wide variety of sophisticated test equipment such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers and line monitors. You will align and calibrate equipment using calibration standards and alignment procedures when available and occasionally aligns by using schematics and available technical data.
