Job summary

About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States.

Major duties

Provide technical assistance and support on the review of project plans and specifications to determine site compatibility and anticipated problems. Inform contractors on requirements concerning construction scheduling, progress reporting, work acceptance procedures, safety measures, wage and hour law observance. Investigates all phases of project construction ensure compliance with contract schedules, specifications and shop drawings. Confer with contractors concerning sufficiency and suitability of equipment being used, number of workers employed. Review contractor's partial payment estimates for items of work claimed, verifying lump-sum and unit price items for units of accomplishment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.Responsible for the quality verification of all phases of construction and inspection activities. 2.Preform quality control audits for inspection of construction, contractor methods, workmanship and compliance with contract documents. 3. Oversee payment records for construction projects to include contractor payment records, submittals, claim files, modification requests, modification estimates, and general contract correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability to Work with Others Building and Construction Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
