Job summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Position is located with Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston, located in Lake Jackson, TX. Applicants selected at the GS-09 level will be promoted to the GS-10 level for one year then to the GS-11 level when all regulatory requirements are met.
Major duties
Responsible for surveillance of contract construction operations. Review plans and specifications for proposed projects. Review contractor's proposed working schedules for logic, adequacy and to determine construction schedules. Oversee surveillance on a day to day basis over the full range of field engineering. Participate in construction meetings to discuss construction principles features.
Qualification
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with preparing design drawings or specifications related to construction; AND 2) Assisting with preparing inspection reports related to construction projects GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing recommendations for construction projects to meet requirements; AND 2) Interpreting drawings, specifications, schematics, or technical manuals.
