Job summary
About the Position: To have responsibility for providing the full range of psychological services residing within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF), Mental Health Clinic. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB)
Major duties
Screens and interviews patients, and performs biological, psychological, and social evaluations. Accomplishes clinical intake interviews with patients, to include family history, biopsychosocial history, developmental history, and presenting problems together with any relevant secondary information. Performs appropriate individual, adult, group, and couples therapies and/or makes recommendations in writing to referring sources for management of the patients or placement in the appropriate treatment setting. Determines the facts concerning patients’ problems and the underlying causes to assess the needs of the individual and/or family. Exercises full professional responsibility in psychological consultation, education, and training to military commanders/senior leaders, other mental health professionals, and medical staff. Provides training to mental health treatment team and professional medical staff. Serves as consultant to community resources and other on and off installation resources and recognized as the authority on mental health care for the Medical Health Clinic.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing treatment services to patients exhibiting issues such as suicidal behavior, thought disorders, depressive and anxiety disorders; 2) Providing assessments and/or evaluations to determine the appropriate treatment plan for patients; 3) Providing guidance and/or education to necessary personnel such as patients, coworkers, and/or leadership This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). License requirement: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
