Job summary
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Major duties
Assist the Catering Manager in scheduling events and become knowledgeable about the catering reservation system; understand the process for booking various banquet rooms, singly and for multiple clients; understand the capacities and capabilities of each of the banquet rooms; become familiar with all menu items, sub-menus and policies and procedures; understand the basics of product cost, labor cost and overhead costs; become familiar with the catering clients ¿ retired, active duty, etc. Assist the Catering Manager in up selling; become knowledgeable of military ranks. Will develop own personal style with which to interview clients from screening of client to learning budget requirements to recommending basic services and building from them. Assists in administering and processing a catering contract from beginning to end. Costs function, prepares contract, signs and obtains clients signature deposits, if required. Coordinates food and beverage needs with appropriate club personnel. Opens and closes the facility. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification
Must possess excellent computer and public relations skills. Minimum two years experience that demonstrates knowledge in one or more of the following areas: food and beverage operations, customer service, hospitality, and sales. Familiarity with military ranks desirable. Ability to interact and communicate with customers at all levels. Must possess planning and organizational skills. Must be creative and visionary. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required
