Job summary

About the Position: Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights. This position serves as Aircraft Attendant on shift-basis serving US Army rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft; and a wide range of US Air Force, Air Guard, Marine, DoD Chartered and NATO aircraft.

Major duties

Direct aircraft to designated parking areas with hand, light and wand signals. Operate multiple special use vehicles, including Ground Power Units (GPUs) and various ground support equipment. Inspect runways, taxiways and aircraft parking areas for potential foreign objects damage. Conduct regular airfield inspections to identify potential safety issues.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Aircraft Attendant without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common duties to ensure safe non-aviation airfield operations. Skilled in the operation of vehicles; conduct airfield inspections; performing safety and emergency procedures; and manipulating controls and equipment and interpret readings to regulate flow of fuel. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Efforts A pre-employment physical is required; incumbent must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Working Conditions Majority of work is performed outdoors in all types of weather with limited protection from the elements. Employee wears and uses safety equipment, follows safety regulations and uses precaution to avoid danger from fumes, flames, and explosions; and to avoid falling from or into equipment. Work is performed in an officially designated noise-hazard area. Employee wears appropriate personal hearing protection and receives periodic medical audiometric evaluation. Shift work, weekend, holiday and on call duty required.
