Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team and support a large Cloud Services government contract in McLean, VA.
HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Patches servers, storage, VMware, AD/Windows, and RHEL operating systems in the environment.
- Maintains operations and monitors health of systems in the environment.
- Works with other team members to provide systems engineering expertise.
- Supports the ConMon program and annual assessment, e.g., STIG compliance.
- Assists the cybersecurity engineer as applicable with security application administration, engineering, O&M, configuration, etc..
- Communicates, collaborates, and coordinates with the Customer as outlined in the shared and inherited security controls and documentation.
- Performs advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
- Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.
- Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
- Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management and the Customer to evolve current processes.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:
- Clearance: Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
- Education: BA/BS or relevant Degree, OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in supporting US government systems, emphasis on DOD
- Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Satellite, and VMWare
- Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Location: McLean, VA - onsite at customer location

The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
