Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal V&V Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. This opening may be in Roy, UT, Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The selected candidate will join a team of diverse Modeling, Simulations, and Analysis (MS&A) engineers in the model Verification and Validation (V&V) and model governance team. This role will involve developing MBSE content, defining and updating documentation standards, reviewing V&V artifacts from external IPTs, and mentoring engineers. The role will require regular coordination between teams and expertise in supporting artifacts from creation to DoD acceptance. Candidate must have an in depth understanding of MBSE and the ability to coach and mentor others in the processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 year
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Principal Engineer: 5 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline; 3 years’ experience with master’s degree or 1 years with PhD
- Senior Principal Engineer: 8 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline; 6 years’ experience with master’s degree or 4 years with PhD
- 1 year of demonstrated technical experience in MS&A areas to include V&V.
- 1 year of experience developing V&V artifacts in accordance with MIL-STD-3022
- 1 year of experience developing MBSE content
- 1 year of experience with MBSE tools (Cameo, DOORs, CPLM, PLM, or similar)
- 1 year of experience guiding technical documents through review processes in a DoD environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
- Demonstrated experience identifying and proactively mitigating programmatic or technical risks
- Familiarity with large missile systems
- Experience guiding engineers through technical processes
- Experience providing oversite to multi-disciplinary teams and working across IPT boundaries
- Experience with Agile Release Train (ART) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Expert with the Atlassian Tool Suite
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
