Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal Cloud Engineer / Sr. Principal Cloud Engineer – 13946 & 13972. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.

- This role is with the Digital Ecosystem Segment focuses on developing automation for cloud deployments, assisting with migration efforts from on-prem systems to the cloud, and providing operational cloud support to the Sentinel program.

- Create custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

- Automate compliance and security checks where possible using custom scripts

- Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly

- Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.

- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Principal Cloud Systems Administrator: 5 Years with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 3 Years with Masters; 00 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Sr Principal Cloud Systems Administrator: 8 Years with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain Active DoD Secret and Special Program Access (SAP).
  • 3+ Yrs experience with AWS, IAM, Information Security, Automation, and Cloud Infrastructure Management
  • 3+ Yrs experience supporting a cloud environment (AWS preferred) to include delivering, securing, and managing container-based applications
  • 3+ Yrs Proficiency in scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and experience with IaC tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM)
  • 3+ Yrs experience with Linux Operating Systems including RHEL 8
  • 3+ Yrs experience with Windows enterprise architecture to include Active Directory, DHCP, GPOs, DNS, and LDAP. 
  • Active IAT Level II certification to satisfy DoD 8570 directive

Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, Terraform, vCenter, vSphere, or similar Virtual Provisioning.
  • Experience with Automation/Configuration Management with Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible
  • Experience with source code configuration management tools (i.e git).
  • Experience with Keycloak and Vault.
  • Familiarity with container hardening and SBOM
  • Prior experience in a DevSecOps focused environment (i.e., familiarity with configuration management tools, automation & infrastructure as code concepts)
