Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager 3.  This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program as well as other programs.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager 3 is a senior level leader with accountability to the SDS Division Director of Production EngineeringAs the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, your team will provide support to multiple Programs within the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division. This role will require the candidate to manage a department within Production Engineering while providing the people, skills, processes, tools & training for successful achievement of program, division, and corporate goals. 

The position will be as a member of the Division Production Ops leadership team, interfacing with multiple IPTs, customers and suppliersYou will lead the team of Manufacturing Engineers for the execution of specific SOWs which are provided by the Program Build IPT LeadsThis successful candidate will have the following leadership characteristics and responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, technical expertise in the Manufacturing Engineering disciplines (Engineering to Manufacturing design for excellence integration of tooling concepts development; etc.) 

  • Development and execution of long-range plans and strategies while providing the most effective Manufacturing Engineering skill-sets to the program 

  • Awareness of ME best practices and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on operating models, proposals and new business pursuits 

  • Work closely with team on Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA’s) for execution of process and documentation. 

  • Serves as consultant to senior management in long-range company vision planning and strategic directions 

  • Collaborate the technical solutions across the Division, Program IPT's, functions and program leadership 

  • Develop, hire and retain effective staff members including coaching and mentoring 

  • Responsible to maintain the overall direction of Manufacturing Engineering processes, tool and technology integration 

  • Manage SOW with ME Team and/or program IPT including EV management

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of related work experience or Master's Degree with 6 years of related work experience. 

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.  

  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment including RCCA, process flow & documentation, and project execution. 

  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position.

  • At least 1 year experience in ERP Systems.

  • At least 1 year experience in Manufacturing Readines Assessments (MRA's).  

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

  • 5 years of experience building, maintaining, and executing schedules in a manufacturing or production environment. 

  • ICBM / Aerospace Systems Industry Experience. 

  • Strong Scheduling and Analytical skills. 

  • Greater than 5 years of documented experience working in a robust IPT environment. 

  • Experience standing up tools / processes / training / production schedules / metrics. 

  • Experience in high rate and/or high mix, low rate manufacturing environments.
