Our 90,000 employees are Defining Possible every day using science, technology and engineering to create and deliver advanced systems, products and services. Northrop Grumman careers and internships are as varied as your interests, with a lifetime of potential that will allow you to work together with people from many backgrounds, personal passions and disciplines.

Northrop Grumman Missions Systems is seeking experienced engineers in the following areas: Antennas, Electromagnetics, Computational Electromagnetics, RF/Microwave design and Software development. The qualified candidate will join a team working toward advanced optimization algorithms that leverage high -fidelity Computational Electromagnetic (CEM)-based simulations.

Responsibilities may include algorithm development, software maintenance, performance modeling, GUI & Control development, and more. Experienced applicants will have experience with high-fidelity CEM-based simulations, mixed fidelity techniques (high frequency to full wave methods), time domain methods.

We are looking for an individual that would like to pursue an exciting and rewarding career in compact range and RF test measurements. This would include:

  • Strong emphasis of hands-on integration and troubleshooting
  • Learning compact range theory, analysis and test methodology
  • Working with and understanding mixers, multiplexers, RF couplers, LNA’s, attenuators, RF sources, receivers, positioner controllers, beam controllers, programable power supplies
  • Candidate must be independently proficient in MATLAB script generation and analysis.  Candidate is expected to be given MATLAB tasks and be independently capable of producing the following:
    • Generating post-processing analysis scripts to be able to take raw measured data and produce data summaries in plot form and professional deliverable data package form.  RFAntenna calculations will be part of the post-processing analysis.  Understands how to interpret S-Parameters and be able to calibrate out external device effects.
    • Updating post-processing scripts made by themselves and others to modify data products produced and be able to filter results based on user input for specific results and to aid in troubleshooting.
    • Generating MATLAB GUI products.
    • Generating MATLAB products to be able to interface with measurement acquisition software, automate post-processing to kick off based on hand shaking interface between MATLAB parallel processing and completion of measurement acquisition.

The position would require long-term shadowing of an upper-level Technical Band Engineer for at least 8 months to 1 year. The function would be to learn, and absorb the knowledge transfer to help build our organizations skillset of individuals proficient with compact antenna range I&T.
