The Mechanical Systems Engineer will report to the Emerging Technologies Manager within the Advanced Technology Operations department and will be responsible for design, analysis, and/or test of assigned components in support of the next generation commercial aircraft.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Execute the design, analysis, and/or test planning for assigned mechanical components or systems in support of the next generation commercial engine products
  • Assess and help define the key design requirements for new technology
  • Work collaboratively with team leader and other team members to regularly share progress against the program plan as well as technical learnings
  • Substantiate designs using relevant design practices
  • Present work to subject matter experts and program leaders at technical reviews
  • Complete clear and thorough written documentation of work

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college

Desired Characteristics

  • Any relevant design, analysis, or test experience with Mechanical Systems hardware or systems: bearings, gears, seals, shafts, structural housings, oil systems, air systems, heat exchangers
  • Proven facilitation and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams both locally and around the globe
  • Highly motivated self-starter focused on solving technical problems and driving solutions
  • Ability to create and execute program plans, as well as communicate status, challenges, and recovery plans effectively
