Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems is seeking a qualified leader for the position of Manager Electronics Engineering 1 – (2nd Shift Test Team) within the Module Assembly and Test (MA&T) department. This position is located at our Space Park campus in Manhattan Beach, CA.

The Front-Line Manager is responsible for direct supervision of test production activities on 2nd shift for MA&T. MA&T is a world class facility capable of assembling and testing a wide array of microelectronic modules from DC to W-Band for space, air and ground applications. The successful candidate will provide technical direction and administrative support in the production of RF, analog, and digital modules and hybrids, supervising direct reports with a variety of experience-level.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage employee performance (includes engagement strategies for high performers and corrective actions for low performers)
Engage section members (includes mentoring, coaching, recognition and rewards, and career development)
Determine staffing by working with Sub-project Managers to optimize coverage
Maintain all lab equipment and provide logistical support, manage service contracts for special equipment
Management of regular production builds, QCI testing and any other special testing requirements that arise
Perform property management tasks as needed by the department
Perform performance review, pay rate review, and performance ranking of between eight and twelve non-exempt direct reports
Recruit and hire candidates to perform day-to-day testing tasks as needed due to growth or attrition
Spend approximately 25% time performing direct work such as test engineering support or other non-allocation duties

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus (5) years of test production or other related engineering experience OR Master of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus (3) years of test production or other related engineering experience
Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team.
Must be able to obtain/maintain a government SCI access
Preferred Qualifications:
Active SCI access / SAP
Demonstrated technical competence and troubleshooting experience with test equipment
Ability to develop and foster a diverse and inclusive work culture
Proficiency in Solumina and Enovia
Knowledge of California Labor Laws pertaining to non-exempt employees
