Fiber Technician

Our work depends on a Fiber Technician joining our team to installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and removes network fiber components. Performs layout, installation, termination, labeling, testing, and certification of all associated fiber components and ensures compliance with program, industry and base standards.
HOW A FIELD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration, and/or enhancement of company technical products, programs, and systems
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor of Science
Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Fiber optic networking tools such as voltmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
Security Clearance Level: Secret
Certifications: Certified Fiber Optic Technician. Must have or be able and willing to obtain within 60 days of employment
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and collaborative skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work.
- Supports the timely escalation and communication of status to external and internal customers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills applied to the development and presentation of technical materials appropriate to a broad spectrum of audiences.
- Adept at interfacing with Government at senior leader levels and representing the interests of GDIT
Preferred Skills:
- ITIL V3/4 Foundation or higher

The likely salary range for this position is $69,264 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
