Job Description Summary

The prototype lab manufactures prototypes for new instrumentation tests, collaborating with both engineers and other technicians. High tolerance machining is a regular part of the lab functions.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Machining Skills CNC Capable. Including surface grinder. With an emphasis on extreme tolerance small components 

  • Designing tooling and support equipment, holding fixtures/ machining process aids. 

  • Lab processes with ovens and testing equipment 

  • Cleaning and processing equipment 

  • Assembly skills and excellent mechanical skills 

  • Basic shop equipment machines experience such as Grinders polishers bandsaws belt sanders, metal saws 

  • Welding experience TIG welding Brazing and soldering of tiny high precision parts made of aircraft grade alloys. 

  • Experience in Sheet metal working and equipment. Working with Aircraft alloys. 

  • Collaborates well with Project Management, Engineering Staff, and Technicians to Maintain effective and professional working environment. 

  • Print reading proficient. 

  • Shop management experience. 

Required Qualifications:   

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent 

  • Minimum of 2 years of machining experience 

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions which may be technical in nature

  • Ability to work overtime as required

  • Tool maker 

  • CNC programing proficient. 

  • Computer skills. (Microsoft windows, excel) 

  • Complex metal fabrication experience. 

  • Knowledge in aircraft engine test Instrumentation. 

  • Basic understanding of light probes and clearanceometers. 

  • Experience with Pneumatics and hydraulics.
