Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineer Systems / Principal Engineer Systems Operations Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
**This role may be filled at either the Engineer Systems / Principal Engineer Systems based on qualifications listed below**
The candidate will partner with the Chief Architect and Systems Engineering lead to design solutions for USAF Open Architecture development. Required qualifications include SysML modeling, MBSE tools or Mission Engineering experience, and an active Secret clearance. The role seeks innovative, adaptable thinkers who excel in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, can multitask, present verbally, and self-educate. Candidates must understand and apply traditional systems engineering concepts in an agile, accelerated setting and think “out of the box.” This position is contingent on program award and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of Research and Advanced Design programs
Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Collaborate with the Chief Architect and Lead Systems Engineer to build out Systems Engineering artifacts in support of standards development for incorporation into Northrop Grumman adopting programs
Generate and present material to support internal and external customer briefings

Basic Qualifications (Engineer Systems Level):
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience , OR a Master’s of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience , OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AFSIM simulation and modeling
Knowledge and experience with the definition of OMS – Open Mission System Architecture Specification, UCI – Universal Command and Control Interface, and other DoD Open Architectures
Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite and Cameo Enterprise Architecture modeling for system design
Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
Able to collaborate in a team environment
