The Systems Engineering (SE) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).
The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) is looking for a Electromagnetic Warfare Analyst (Systems Engineer II) to join the LWMDS team. LWMDS supports all aspects of Systems Engineering that facilitate the development of complex systems to support various Raytheon programs around the world. The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.
This position is an onsite role located in Huntsville, Alabama.
What You will Do:
- You will conduct analysis on electronic attack models and impacts on missile defense radar systems in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
- You will develop, maintain, and execute modeling and simulation (M&S) MATLAB electronic attack and electronic protection software.
- You will analyze and conduct trade studies of electronic protection algorithms and concepts throughout the Missile Defense System.
- You will coordinate evaluation activities and products with functional group managers, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks.
- You will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the technical team and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of two (2) years of Systems Engineering in the following area;
- Experience with System and Subsystem Electronic Warfare testing
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced degree in STEM
- Ability and willingness to learn new physical and mathematical concepts
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency radar systems, including AN/TPY-2, SBX, LRDR, SPY-1, SPY-6, UEWRs, or Cobra Dane
- Experience with radar scheduling, tracking, and discrimination is highly desired.
- Experience with C2BMC and/or weapon systems including THAAD, Aegis Weapon Systems, and Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) systems
- Previous demonstrated team management experience
- Experience with version control software and/or object-oriented programming
- Experience working alone and in a team environment
- Demonstrated collaboration skills
- Experience in written and verbal communications
