Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an Associate Quality Engineer to join our team as an AMEC Quality Engineer.
What You'll Get To Do:
- Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducting quality assurance tests; and performing statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
- May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
- Work with Engineering test sets and ensure proper Quality standards are in place to process hardware.
- Collaborate with Engineering team for engineering development.
- Develop corrective action plans for software and hardware processing through plant.
- Investigate failures internally to identify root cause on flight hardware.
- Work with technicians to develop root cause findings on flight hardware.
- Have the ability to implement Kaizan strategies to reduce defect count on manufacturing floor.
Basic Qualifications:
- 0 Years of experience with a Bachelors of Science
- Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering Process
- Experience investigating failures and identifying root causes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering desired
- Knowledge of Northrop Grumman's manufacturing process.
- Experience working with SAP
- Knowledge of microelectronics
- Certified in Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies
- Understanding of AS9100
