Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking Separating U.S. ServicemembersSystems Engineers to join Air Dominance and other programs in the St. Louis, Missouri region. The Air Dominance team develops some of the most dynamic and technically engaging defense platforms and mission capabilities in the industry. The region is dynamic and growing as we support multiple new product development programs.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced, or Senior.

As a member of the BDS program, you will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. You will evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. You can expect to perform a large variety of analyses to define and optimize the total system design and architecture to ensure mission success.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of Systems Engineering throughout the full program lifecycle (concept definition, design, test, and production), using traditional and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods.

  • Assist with definition of high level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.

  • Assists with risk assessments and generate mitigation plans to comply with system/customer requirements.

  • Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to develop system definitions/architectures and perform trade studies.

  • Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts to execute the systems engineering statement of work.

  • Programs supported may include but not limited to: F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-15 Eagle, F-22 Raptor, T-7A Red Hawk, MQ-25 Stingray, MQ-28 Ghost Bat & EA-18G Growler

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Separation of Service: 

Position(s) is/are eligible for the Boeing 12 Month U.S. Veteran Job Offer. Offers of employment can be made up to 12 months prior to separation of service. If an offer is made, it is contingent upon separation from service with the military. The selected candidate must provide their Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214) within 12 months from the date of the offer or prior to an official start date, whichever occurs first.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in applying engineering processes and principles

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Experience modeling or simulating systems

  • Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation 

  • Experience with product/systems development and integration

  • Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. DOORs, CAMEO, Earned value management).

  • Technical system domain knowledge (e.g. air vehicle)

  • Current Department of Defense Security Clearance

Typical Education/Experience

Level 2:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 4:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:  Relocation is available based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range:

Level 2 - $81,600 - $110,400

Level 3 - $97,750 - $132,250

Level 4 - $119,850 – 162,150
