Job summary
You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the CRANE MAINTENANCE DIVISION OF THE LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY.
Major duties
You will disassemble, repair, and assemble machinery and equipment components such as hoist, travel, swing, and boom assemblies. You will remove, install, and align travel, hoist, brake, and drive motors; gasoline and diesel engines. You will repair gasoline and diesel engines. You will perform machining operations associated with repairs such as reboring, cylinders, bearings, bushings, turning or grinding shafts, pistons, brake drums, wheels, and manufacture of replacement parts.
