Job Description Summary
The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aviation as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Internship may support any sub-sections within operations of Lynn Test System Engineering.

You will utilize acquired job skills, company policies, and procedures to solve problems and test the capabilities of jet engine components. Performs technical assignments involving instrumentation and data acquisition/processing systems under the leadership of appropriate staff or project personnel ensures that the Company provides quality data to its customers.
You will take directions from other team members to complete a wide range of tasks. Will work in a laboratory environment, work with other groups to build test setups, test components, and collect results for Engineering customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Support and perform work in compliance to all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies and regulations
· Interface with external organizations & internal supporting functions that support business needs
· Work on assignments that are assigned to area, identify issues or problems with equipment, processes and/or products.
· Communicate work product to the appropriate persons.
· Contribute to and collaborate with team to effectively deliver on priorities
· Periodically prepare and implement supporting work plans to update equipment to enhance lab capabilities.
• Perform assigned tasks including setup, installation, calibration, data collection, documentation, and operating functions necessary for the successful operation of analog, digital, and gas analysis data acquisition systems.
• The application of specialized test instrumentation including but not limited to strain gauges, accelerometers, magnetic pick-ups, optical tip timing probes and capacitance (clearance) probes
• The routing of specialized test sensors at the component-level and throughout assembly for development test turbo-shaft and turbo-fan engines
• Assist with investigating, diagnosing and correcting instrumentation or system malfunctions, elevating issues to appropriate staff as needed.
•Execution of component level testing in a variety of fields such as bearing, seals and drives, component airflow, experimental mechanics and fluid systems.
• Maintain effective communications with team members, support organization and customers.
• Promote and demonstrate good housekeeping

Qualifications/Requirements
Active Military Personnel

- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Airframe & Powerplant license.
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate Online documents, drawings, and instructions.
- Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
