High-Performance Computing (HPC) System Administrator

Why This is an Exciting Role:

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking an HPC System Administrator to join their team. Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide Linux and Windows administration support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters.
  • Provide Linux and Windows support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Configures and manages Linux and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required to maintain compliance with applicable security standards.
  • Develops long-term solutions to problems utilizing existing policies, best practices, standards compliance, and peer input.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:  

Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 9+ years of working experience OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD +4 years experience, Master's +7 years experience, 13 years related work experience).

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Experience with Slurm or similar workload manager in an HPC cluster
  • Strong Linux and Windows skills and experience working in a Linux-based development environment
  • Experience configuring and managing Linux and Windows operating systems in a secure environment.
  • Experience installing/loading the operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining system integrity, and configuring network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • DoD 8570 / CWIP certification - Security +CE
  • 3+ years in the Intelligence Community

Desired Qualifications:

  • LINUX certification
  • Experience with Bright Computing platform
  • Strong networking background
  • Familiarity administering code repositories such as GIT and Subversion (SVN)
  • Familiarity with the Agile (SCRUM) development methodology using continuous integration and delivery
  • Familiarity with tracking and ticketing systems such as Atlassian products
