Job summary

This position is located at Hale Ikena facility, Fort Shafter, Hawaii (Island of Oahu). Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. This is a Standing Register announcement. Applicants will be referred to selecting officials on various cut-off periods until filled. first cut-off date is 10/06/2025. Major duties

Prepares a variety of foods and desserts according to menu requirements and apportions foods for family style servings as well as for plate service. Follows health and safety precautions to ensure safe preparation, handling and storage of food items. Plans, coordinates, times assignments to assure that food items are prepared at a correct temperature and on time. Assists in training lower grade cooks or kitchen help and provides advice on how to improve their work methods. Operates kitchen equipment designed to mix, cook food; cleans and maintains kitchen equipment, utensils and work area.

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Minimum of 6 months work experience directly related to the duties described above, that included skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment. 2.
