We are looking for you to join our team as a Program Quality Engineer based out of Apopka, FL.

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials products
  • Assesses program performance and risks related to quality requirements to ensure contractual requirements are met

  • Review and assess contractual requirements for applicability.

  • Perform cost account management-related activities on programs supporting

  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with customers

  • Perform cost account management-related activities on programs supporting

  • Support program gate reviews as required

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Work from engineering drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists to ensure items meet required specifications and quality standards

  • Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.

  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • Applies technical knowledge in industry standard quality engineering methods, interpretation of drawing requirements and applicable specifications & standards, and mechanical measurement & analysis

  • Perform process audits of software development processes to assure compliance with established policies, procedures, work instructions, and program-specific plans.

  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation plans to assist program activities for processing software, hardware, and materials into partially finished or finished products.

  • Cross-trained in the software quality engineer processes in the department.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

 

Basic Qualifications Program Quality Engineer

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality and/or manufacturing; OR a minimum of 3 years in quality/manufacturing with a Master's degree
  • Demonstrated experience authoring technical reports, process documentation, or presentations for engineering or production programs.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting stakeholder or customer reviews at multiple levels (e.g., shop floor personnel, program management, senior leadership).
  • Experience applying Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.).
  • Experience reviewing and applying risk management principles in contractual or technical requirement assessments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications Program Quality Engineer

  • Earned Value Management CAM experience

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

  • Strong background in design and/or operations (manufacturing, quality, etc) of electromechanical, electro-optical, and/or opto-mechanical systems.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile software development process

  • Demonstrated knowledge of C, C++, Java, and Python

  • Seasoned facilitator for Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities

  • Experience in maintaining positive supplier relationships, including through successful resolution of supplier quality challenges

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

MANQMA

Primary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
