You will be responsible for:
- Performing tasks to inspect electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components and parts for conformance to specifications, utilizing blueprints, drawings, work instructions, schematics, and other assembly manuals
- Examining layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components to detect assembly errors
- Working from specifications, drawings, process instructions, engineering change orders, written and verbal instruction to inspect components subassemblies and assemblies against required quality standards such as IPC and J-Standard
- Identifying and documenting defects and input data into the appropriate systems for future review.
- Inspecting subassemblies and assemblies after rework, modifications or repairs to verify defects have been corrected
- Verifying configuration of product to ensure conformity to the most recent revision
- Maintaining required quality records to BAE, ISO 9001, and AS9100 standards
- Conducting process audits in all phases of production and inspection (i.e., calibration, materials, process sheets, etc.) to confirm processes are being accurately followed
- Interfacing with engineering and production regarding technical issues (i.e., clarification of engineering change orders) and problem resolution
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills High school diploma and at least 4 years of experience working in a production environment
At least 2 years of experience inspecting electronic, electrical, and mechanical parts or assemblies
At least 2 years of avionics experience
Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC and J-STD
Experience in ESD and FOD controlled areas
Capability of inspecting utilizing 10X magnifying loupes, multi-meters, push testers, and other handheld test equipment
Computer competency and English literacy is required to ensure the candidate will be capable of following instructions and safety guidelines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.)Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience testing, troubleshooting and maintenance experience with the Radio Integration System (RIS).
Experience configuring and maintaining Radio Over Internet Protocol (RoIP) hardware and software.
In-depth knowledge of Radio Frequency technologies including HF, VHF, UHF,
Familiarity with various MANET networking protocols (ANW2, TSM-X, SRW, WNW, etc).
Hands-on experience with tactical military radios: 117F, 117G, PRC-150, PRC-160, PRC-137, PRC-163, PRC-167.
Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
