Provide Manufacturing and Mission Assurance support for process inspection, part inspection, and other related responsibilities relating to quality
Responsibility
- Conduct part and process inspections, using various gages and measurement tools, to meet Customer requirements
- Understand relevant specifications, tolerances, and process requirements and apply them to parts and processes
- Record and document results of measurements for traceability and document control
- Read and understand technical documents to include drawings, work instructions, and technical instructions
- Identify and document discrepant parts and measurements for evaluation by engineering personnel in appropriate MRB format
- Basic understanding of the quality requirements listed in AS9100 and DCMA
- Communicate with multiple levels of Manufacturing and Mission Assurance employees to convey relevant information, requirements, and discrepancies
- Learn and understand the various software programs used in the facility
- Support Manufacturing and Engineering, as needed, to include RCCA, follow up tasks related to MRB, evaluation of repairs / rework, and internal audits
- General responsibilities include monitoring for unsafe practices, support inspection training, collecting / compiling documents for FAI’s, FOD related activities, and other tasks as assigned by management
- Must maintain all NG expectations including timecard tracking, performance goals, and other requirements listed in the employee handbook
This position may be filled at either a level 2 or level 3
Basic Qualifications for a level 2:
- High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role
- Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools
- Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies
- Understanding of GD&T with the ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications, and related criteria
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
- Must be able to work around composites, epoxies, and sealants for long periods of time.
- Must pass visual exam
- The ability to pass New Hire Physical/Respiratory Exam.
- Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain PAR required

- Ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications, and related criteria
- Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results
- Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
- Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
