Job Description

As Senior Systems Engineer you will make a significant contribution to the System Design of C4I Systems on our programmes through the application of world class Systems Engineering expertise.

The role offers an opportunity to provide System Engineering effort on a variety of MoD development and delivery programmes, Customer Research and Development, and Internal Research and Development. You will have the opportunity to work on variety of activities including:

  • Analysis of user and system level documentation, producing system designs to satisfy requirements
  • Engage with specialty engineering teams to ensure a complete system solution
  • Evaluate and model system performance to support design decisions and trade studies
  • Specify interfaces and system components, managing the system design through its lifecycle
  • Collaborate with development, integration, and test teams on system design and component development
  • Engage with stakeholders, including users and technical advisors
  • Conduct requirements elicitation, interface definition, and design analysis
  • Support system engineering management through planning, estimating, monitoring, and control
  • Contribute to a multi-disciplined team for safety, security, ILS, and SI&T inputs into a coherent system solution

Qualifications

Ideally you will bring your experience in:

  • Broad competence in systems engineering with practical experience in development programmes
  • Experience in resolving design challenges and engaging specialist engineering disciplines
  • Proven analytical and fault-finding skills, comfortable working in a technical laboratory
  • Experience with structured design methods and ability to create well-structured technical documents
  • Ability to work well in a team and present formally at progress reviews

Desirable:

  • Experience across all phases of the engineering lifecycle
  • Understanding of computer and network infrastructures, military hardware, and relevant standards
  • Knowledge of Safety, Security, and ILS processes
  • Experience with engineering tools, Model-Based Systems Engineering, and System Modelling Language (SysML)
  • Ability to commit to occasional travel

Additional Information

This role offers a starting salary of between 45,000 - 57,000 depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package.
