Job summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Major duties

Exercise supervisory responsibility over the execution of testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and overhaul of all equipment and systems within assigned section. Oversee testing, troubleshooting, and final adjustment of diverse electronic equipment and systems, sub-assemblies, assemblies, components, antenna systems and test equipment. Provide general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities, policies and expectations to assigned personnel. Determine the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of operations within the limits of broader authority over the work unit. Plan use of subordinate workers equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week, month-to-month, and quarterly basis. Assure that safety and housekeeping practices are observed. Investigate work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity, and determine causes. Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Provide necessary leadership and direction to assigned personnel, to achieve optimal individual and team performance.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor - Ability to Lead or Supervise. Assigning work to employees and providing technical direction and assistance in analysis/diagnosis, overhaul, modification and final alignment of electronic equipment. Determining work sequence, priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments; observing tasks in progress and upon completion; and providing advice or instruction to employees on administrative matters. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below.
