Job summary
You will serve as a Data Management and Integrity Specialist in the Engineering Technical Services Branch, Engineering Department of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING GROTON.
Major duties
You will conduct workload forecasting analysis in support of current and future staffing levels. You will gather contractor performance data and perform statistical trend analysis. You will perform departmental and individual branch data analyses. You will initiate departmental process improvement procedures. You will validate data integrity, perform data mining, analysis, and will inform department management when significant or unusual data shifts occur. You will draft annual Travel, Training, and Overtime budgets in support of Department, and maintain accurate budget records throughout the fiscal year.
Qualification
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting management with researching organizational workloads to forecast staffing level requirements in support of shipbuilding operations. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Assist senior specialists with data analysis and workload forecasting analysis on staffing levels; 2) Assist with assessing database performance and accuracy, including troubleshooting, resolving access and performance issues and restoring system integrity; 3) Assist senior specialists with drafting annual travel, training, and overtime budgets through analysis and assessment of department requirements. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing, tracking and reporting of organizational workloads to forecast staffing level requirements in support of shipbuilding operations. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Conduct workload forecasting analysis to support management determination of staffing levels; 2) Conduct data analysis to determine the best method to produce a realistic workload forecast; 3) Analyze workload forecasting metrics such as productivity and efficiency on weekly basis for management review; 4) Assess database performance and accuracy, including troubleshooting, resolving access and performance issues and restoring system integrity; 5) Draft annual travel, training, and overtime budgets through analysis and assessment of department requirements. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: FOR GS-07: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education; OR Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement; OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. FOR GS-09: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree; OR Obtained an LL.B. or J.D.
