Job summary

Major duties

Position duties include, but are not limited to: Serves as Team Lead, Senior Analyst and Project Manager for Science & Technology Division's Safety and Security Programs. Utilizes DoD, AF, AFMC, AFRL and/or AFRL/RW guidance & instructions to advise & provide counsel to managers and/or employees. Develops, executes, and sustains various projects including but not limited to tracking and implementing all safety and security requirements for Division's range, weapons, flight, occupational health, and hazardous operations. Collaborates closely with Branch teams by assisting with implementation of safety and security programs in their respective areas. Advises and provides management with recommendations for improving and enhancing safety and security programs across the Division. Fosters and implements generative safety culture across the Division in order to promote awareness, accountability, and best practices. Leads Division with annual safety tracking requirements. Leads annual reviews and implements necessary changes to Security Class Guides and Technology Protection Plans. Prepares the Division for annual inspections and works with AFRL/DET 6 and RWO Security office personnel during all safety and security related inspections.

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience managing safety and/or security processes. This experience should include implementation of enterprise instructions and policies, preparations and participation in inspections and compliance assessments, and experience with generating novel approaches for meeting regulatory requirements for these disciplines. Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This is a non-bargaining, non-APDP position. Must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the DO-01/GS-11 or equivalent grade level Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills for technical and senior leader audiences Desired Qualifications: Background on managing safety or security related processes. Experience in managing and implementing safety related processes. Experience in managing and implementing safety related processes. Knowledge of USAF safety and security OIs, regulations, and policies. Experience with inspections and evaluations of safety and security programs. Ability to lead teams in the implementation of processes driven by regulatory requirements.
