Job summary
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command (Theater), 21st Signal Brigade, 302ND Signal Battalion, US Army Signal Activity with a duty location of Camp Roberts, CA.
Major duties
Serves as the Security Specialist responsible for the development, implementation, execution, and management of a multi-discipline security program. Serves as the Physical Security Officer responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and implementing an appropriate physical security/crime prevention program. Consults with other security specialists to develop protection systems that provide maximum protection without any major interference within the organization mission. Supports monitoring the Information Security Program through development of instructions, policy, procedures, program reviews, and inspections. Processes requests for clearance/access, changes to position sensitivity designation, and investigation, and applies adjudicative process as part of administering the personnel security program. Serves as Director, Emergency Services with oversight of Department of the Army Police Force.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with Physical Security (PHYSEC); AND Experience overseeing and/or managing a police force/department. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
