Job summary

You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the MINOR AND MEDIUM CALIBER GUNS BRANCH of the GUNS DIVISION in the SYSTEMS INTEGRATION DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is equivalent to the GS-13/14 level. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $136,323).

Major duties

You will serve as Lead Gun Weapon System Replacement Program (GWSRP) Technician, providing In-Service Engineering support and representation of the Minor Caliber Guns Branch (Code G32) in the general Atlantic region. You will be responsible for the long range as well as the day to day operations of the GWSRP and for coordinating priorities and efforts ensuring scheduled completion dates of all program requirements are met. You will support the GWSRP Project Lead during all aspects of the program throughout the Navy. You will lead and coordinate the removal and reinstallation of gun mounts as well as direct the depots to accomplish the overhaul for guns, gun mounts, gun fire control systems and NAVSEA managed components that support these systems.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and coordinating shipboard alteration and maintenance projects to provide technical direction and oversight on the installation, overhaul, and removal of guns, gun mounts, or gun fire control systems to ensure operational readiness.
