About the Position: Serves as an information technology (IT) specialist providing IT support throughout the organization, and advisory services to organization command group and subordinate units. ***Relocation or Recruitment Incentive may be authorized*** Selectee will receive a Permanent Change of Duty Station (PCS) to Poznan, Poland with a 24-month unaccompanied tour (or 24- month accompanied tour with dependent family members over the age of 18).

Major duties

Monitor the information assurance cyber security and information management programs for the organization. Discuss pertinent issues with functional and technical specialists and initiates necessary changes. Plan and implement IT life cycle management and troubleshooting to support the organization’s IT mission requirements. Evaluate new or changed software to determine how it would support current and planned networking and communications systems and projects.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Applying the full range of principles, concepts, and methodologies related to the quality assurance functional programs; 2) Establishing process measurement points and statistical techniques/methods to measure, analyze, and continuously improve processes; 3) Applying process-related practices, methods, and techniques such as statistical analysis, control and sampling, process proofing, and quality data analysis; AND 4) Performing investigations of defective material for cause and corrective action and initiate process improvements with the contractor as needed. The OPM Qualification Standard provides the following definition: Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. My specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation; Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information; and Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Configuration Management Operating Systems System Administration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

**Continued from Additional Information section above** Employee is required to have a valid U.S. driver's license to obtain a local (Poland U.S. Forces Certificate of License). If shipping a Privately Owned Vehicle (POV), employee is required to obtain a Polish vehicle registration for local Polish auto insurance. No relief from Host Nation taxation i.e. no Value Added Tax (VAT) refund program.
