Job summary
About the Position: This vacancy exists in Program Executive Office Combat Support &Combat Service Support (PEO CS & CSS), in the office of the Project Manager Expeditionary Energy & Sustainment Systems (PM E2S2), located in Fort Belvoir, VA. PEO CS & CSS leads the development,systems integration, acquisition, testing, fielding, sustainment and modernization of critical combat enabling systems across the Army's Transportation,Quartermaster, Ordnance and Engineer portfolios.
Major duties
Manage new systems through advanced development, production and fielding; or fielded systems undergoing extensive modification, retrofit, or rebuild Exercises management control of all functional inputs to the program. Develops and establishes the controls necessary to manage internal operations, matrix support and the support of other command and agencies. Analyzes impact of contemplated budget revisions, proposed adjustments, legislative changes, economic trends or directives from higher echelons. Maintains a continuous up to date cognizance of all aspects of project(s). Review and evaluate data relating to short and long-term technical management, financial objectives and requirements to keep abreast of program progress and anticipated problems. Liaise with appropriate representatives of DA, industry, supporting organizations and foreign governments to assure up-to-date awareness of the planning of all actions and maintain projects within cost. Identifies problem areas and determines and directs action necessary to accomplish the project plan and objectives. Oversees coordination between assigned program(s) and other systems. Attends high level conferences and meetings with representatives of DoD, DA, AMC and other commands and agencies

Specialized Experience: In order to qualify based on experience your resume must describe, at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent)level in the Federal Service that includes: (1) Providing e a wide-range of program support to include managing systems through development, production, and fielding; (2) Reviewing and evaluating program-related components (such as engineering,procurement, production, budgeting, logistics development, sustainment planning, integrated logistics support, testing, configuration management, product improvement and fielding) to ensure cost/schedule/performance goals are met; (3) Providing technical advice and applying analytical problem solving to internal staff and/or other organizations on program-related issues; (4) Briefing and providing interface coordination with other agencies regarding program/project status.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11equivalent). This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management - Practitioner certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty. This is a Temporary NTE 3 Years Position. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
