Job summary
You will serve as an Action Officer supporting the Commanding Officer and the Chief of staff for NAVSURFWARCENDLD. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-3 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-09 and GS-10.
Major duties
You will work closely with the Chief of Staff and Executive assistant to monitor and track deliverables for CO approval. You will develop and provide clear taskings to the appropriate offices, solicit responses, and consolidate the information to provide coherent, defendable, accurate, complete, consistent, and relevant deliverables for review and approval. You will assign tasks, track, and coordinate answers to questions directed by leadership. You will monitor progress on actions, generate metrics to demonstrate accountability for meeting deadlines and quality expectations. You will prepare periodic reports on action status and keep leadership aware of late, pending, and new actions. You will develop processes for tracking and actioning deliverables that come through various channels. You will provide in-person, telephone, and virtual meeting support to include keeping meeting minutes and capturing action items and tasking. You will following up with appropriate POCs on action items and tasking statuses and provide status to NSWC Dahlgren leadership. You will prepare briefing material, charts, graphs and other presentation materials independently. You will utilize graphics or desktop publishing software for preparation of presentations. You will review and summarize reports and documents for senior management directing attention to actions needed or concerns.
Qualification
For the NT-03: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-02 (GS-05 through 08) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative assistants to support the operations of an organization. Examples may include, and are not limited to: Managing arrangements for executive personnel; Drafting reports and correspondence for superiors; Tracking deliverables and tasking; Coordinating protocol procedures, details and logistics; and implementing efficient and effective administrative policies and procedures. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: For the NT-03: A master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
