Job summary
You will serve as a SHIPBUILDING SPECIALIST in the WATERFRONT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT ofFW DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET BAHRAIN Bahrain. The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week). Relocation and recruitment incentives up to 25% may be authorized.
Major duties
You will perform long range planning, estimating and accomplishing technical analysis of customer and contractor proposals as well as quick response waterfront support. You will coordinate ship system overhauls to ensure completion within the production schedule. You will establish program objectives, requirements, schedules and courses of action required to meet mission requirements and attain production objectives. You will serve as primary point of contact, liaison, and negotiator between command, customers, and other government agencies to ensure execution of projects.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience may include 1) Recommending alternatives to assist in solving technical problems associated with all facets of ship maintenance 2) Developing work specifications, detailed reports and statements of work to support the planning of shipbuilding, ship repair, and modernization availabilities 3) Reviewing and invoking technical requirements to ensure compliance with appropriate shipbuilding procedures, contracts and specifications during the planning and execution stage 4) Providing oversight of shipboard production work to ensure projects are completed according to schedule, work specification and quality.
