Overview
General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our Folsom, California team.
The Senior Test Engineer is dynamic and spreads across both development and production testing. The role develops test plans/procedures and conducts testing ensure that the deliverable hardware we create are free of flaws and function as designed. This includes R&D testing and MIL-STD environmental testing. This position also designs and integrates sophisticated test equipment (hardware and software) and performs hands-on product testing that utilizes this test equipment. The role supports transition of test equipment to production. The Senior Test Engineer performs Root Cause investigations to determine better improve product/process and recommend corrective actions. This role also collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs. This is a hands-on role that understands interaction of hardware, sensors and software.

*We are on a 9/80 schedule (9 hour days Monday - Thursday, alternating Fridays off, opposite Fridays 8 hour days). This is a full-time on-site position.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
- Participates in final system integration and validation to identify functional problems.
- Defines internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
- Creates, documents, and analyzes the most complex test cases and provides feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
- Ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards.
- Identifies chronic or systemic problems in testing and develops and implements improvements to process.
- May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
