Job summary

You will serve as a TRAINING TECHNICIAN (MODELING & SIMULATIONS) in the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Major duties

You will plan and operate simulations in support of training events to include simulations database construction and management, exercise control support, simulations testing, and simulation federation operations. You will plan and operate simulations to command, control, communications, and computer (C4) equipment interfaces. You will instruct maneuver simulation models in support of live, virtual and constructive environments. You will identify simulation training, equipment, and contractor resources that are required in support of simulation supported events. You will research and implement new technology capable of modeling technology employed in modern-day battlefields.

Qualification

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, coordinating, integrating, and operating simulation models. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector administering, instructing, and maintaining simulation models in support of simulation events. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-09: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related GS-07: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
