Job summary

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Pacific, (DISA-PAC), Operations Division (PC3), Current Operations Branch (PC31)..
Major duties
Meets with customers and technical personnel to define user requirements and determine the most efficient means of resolving issues associated with the installation or change in configuration of equipment and systems. Performs management duties, when applicable, which includes responsibility for ensuring project goals are accomplished, and technical direction to other civilian, military, or contractor personnel. Provides operational knowledge of telecommunications for satellite and terrestrial communications, and an understanding of the problems associated with interfaces with each. Integrates component capabilities and exercise schedules into the current operations battle rhythm by establishing working relationships between key action officers. Utilize skills in identifying possible causes of degradation of system performance or availability and initiating actions needed to mitigate the degradation.
Qualification
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in all aspects of data communication to include familiarization with 24/7 Network Operation Center or Watch Desk operations, trouble ticketing systems, understanding of basic transmission systems, satellite communication and applications, Internet protocol routing data network equipment, development of data support policies and procedures, and cybersecurity requirements to ensure continuity, information assurance and quality of service. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-13 grade level.
