Job summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Engineering and Planning Department Code 200, Nuclear Work Packaging Group Code 229 of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Major duties
You will provide management and control of the processes used by Ship Project Teams to package and certify work for ship availabilities You will develop and maintain nuclear WPC qualification and training requirements for Work Packagers and Control Desk Technicians. You will evaluates Ship Project Teams on adherence to AIM Work Packaging processes during execution of projects. You will manage the development of project work packaging strategies for execution of work in support of shipyard fast start strategies. You will supervise and manage the nuclear WPC function through subordinate project team leaders. You will make organization , position classification, and position management recommendations and decisions based on work requirements and work actually performed. You will provides guidance to employees in identifying training and development needs to enhance their capabilities.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing practical knowledge of engineering disciplines (structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, combat systems, etc.) and work execution processes to a full range of assigned duties. Experience evaluating the performance of subordinate team leaders, and team members with input from team leaders, selects personnel for vacancies in unit, and takes appropriate disciplinary action as warranted. Experience coordinating effort on engineering projects with personnel from other engineering codes to complete assigned projects. Experience preparing written reports for management to provide program or project status, and documenting inspection observation and analyzing adverse quality trends or conditions determine applicable corrective actions. Experience working with senior management in the development of corrective actions for complex problems.
