Mission Statement The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) is a separate Agency of the Department of Defense (DoD) under the direction, authority, and control of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD (I&S). Major duties
This announcement is open to: U.S. Citizens who resides or are currently employed in the Fort Meade local commuting area, which includes the District of Columbia and Baltimore City; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George, Montgomery, Howard, Harford, Charles, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore; Adams County in Pennsylvania; City of Alexandria, VA; Virginia counties of Arlington, Stafford, Prince William, and Fairfax and all cities existing in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties; And all U.S. Citizen who resides or is currently employed in the Boyers, PA local commuting area, which includes the Pennsylvania counties of Butler, Clarion, Armstrong, Allegheny, Beaver, Lawrence, Mercer, Crawford, Erie, Venango, and Clarion; Ohio counties of Trumbull, and Mahoning; and all cities existing in Pennsylvania or Ohio within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties. As a Supervisory Investigations Case Analyst you will be responsible for the following duties: Serves as a Supervisory Investigations Case Analyst in Federal Investigative Records Enterprise (FIRE) Automated Federal Leads Center (AFLC) located at Fort Meade, MD or Boyers, PA. Plans, directs, operates, controls and overseas the operations of a teams of Investigative Assistants who are responsible for conducting electronic record checks. Establishes internal procedures for the completion and control of case/item processing; plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate personnel and sets and/or adjust priorities. Identifies employees' training needs and arranges for on-the-job training or other training as required. Monitors completed work of their team for adequacy and appropriateness and evaluates employees' work performance. Participate as subject matter expert as needed in conducting, participating in and/or monitoring special projects and working groups.
Qualification

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-/GG-11) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Conducting and reporting on a wide variety of background investigations primarily involving Federal personnel security operations. Performing analysis of internal case management processes to include security and suitability programs of customer agencies. Evaluating various types of cases utilizing knowledge of the Privacy laws, the Adjudicators Handbook, and the Investigations Processing Handbook. Operating background Investigations systems to include Field Work System (FWS), Personnel Investigations Processing Systems (PIPS) and OPM Personnel Investigations Processing System Imaging System (OPIS) or similar agency systems. Lead and/or mentor others conducting audits or special projects to ensure workload management and regulations are routinely met. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Planning & Evaluation: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. 3. Leadership-Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations. 4. Communicate- (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals.
