Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Major duties
Shifts will vary between 4:30 AM- 7:00 PM with occasional weekend events. SEMPER FIT EMPLOYEE ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION: Incumbent is assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities within the Semper Fit Division. Each employee will be assigned to their primary work location but may be required to work in other Semper Fit program based on operational needs. Ancillary Semper Fit programs include The Barn, Semper Fit Center, HITT Center, Miramar Sports Complex, F45 Program, 50M Pool, Golf Course, PARC, Bob Hope Theater, ITT, and Auto Skills. Cross training will be provided accordingly. Hours of operation for each facility vary and work at each location will include nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift differential pay will be appropriately applied. MAJOR DUTIES FOR F45 PERSONAL TRAINER - FITNESS SPECIALIST Provides physical fitness training to authorized patrons to include Active Duty, Retirees, Family Members, and Department of Defense (DoD) Civilian employees for the F45 program. Organizes and conducts physical fitness assessments such as screening and risk stratification, measurement and evaluation of an individual¿s aerobic capacity, body fat percentage, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, blood pressure, and interpretation of assessment results. Develops an individualized exercise plan based on physical fitness assessment. Responsible for individual and/or groups instruction on fitness and implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive fitness program to improve aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition and flexibility. Will instruct patrons in proper use of exercise equipment while training and how to self-monitor progress either verbally or by composing written instructions for use of equipment, safety, and well-being. Coordinates with command representatives to develop and implement physical fitness programming for Active-Duty military personnel. Incumbent will work with populations deemed to be healthy, with no health risk factors, and who were not referred by a physician. Will be required to run the front desk when not providing personal training or teaching F45 classes or events. Duties include but not limited to entering data into RecTrac, registering patrons for classes, collecting fees, maintaining attendance records, and keeping track of resale inventory. Will record customer transactions/sales with accuracy and within established guidelines. Assists in cleaning and maintaining exercise equipment in proper condition. May be required to submit Construction Maintenance work orders & Maximo requests as needed for the facility and complete appropriate accounting records as required. May be responsible for opening and/or closing of the facility and securing cash drawer funds at the end of the day. Assists in cleaning and maintaining exercise equipment in proper condition. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. Helps to plan and coordinate recreational activities and assists in the maintenance of related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling, and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. Incumbent will serve as a role model and team lead when area supervisor is not on site. Relays instructions gets work started and sets the pace. Will perform supervisory duties in an emergency, or short-term and nonrecurring basis. Provides exceptional customer service, and upholds high service standards using respect, courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork. Takes initiative to solve problems quickly but recognizes when to seek assistance to resolve issues. Collaborates in a professional, supportive, and proactive manner. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification
High school diploma or GED required. One year of experience within the health/fitness industry is preferred. Candidate must possess and maintain a basic level certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization. A certification from one of the following associations is required or MUST be obtained within 6 months of hire. International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA)- Preferred Certification for F45 American Council on Exercise (ACE) American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) Candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of and skill to administer fitness assessments, progressive individual fitness plans and proper exercise techniques. Knowledge of established exercise principles, concepts, and techniques to plan and conduct fitness testing, interpret results, and develop fitness plans. Candidate must possess a current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or obtain within 90 days of hire.
