Job summary
You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Public Affairs Office of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND MARIANAS. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number:ST-12679282-25-JMD. Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement.
Major duties
You will act as the communication advisor to the Commander on matters pertaining to public information, and command information. You will respond to media requests for information of both a routine and sensitive nature. You will prepare or assemble information kits, edit informational materials on high profile issues, release videos photographs and / or feature stories to the news media. You will coordinate media interviews with NAVFAC subject matter experts and arrange news coverage of newsworthy events. You will maintain close working relationships with officials of various trade associations, news media, Navy and Marine Corps affiliated organizations, veteran groups, DoD personnel and state and national government officials outside of NAVFAC.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating public affairs and community relations events AND developing media communications to be distributed to the public.
