Job summary

About the Position: Subject matter expert (SME) on Army Information Technology Investment Accountability (ITIA) for the acquisition of IT products/services. Provide the visibility required to ensure that non-Information Technology programmed dollars spent on Information Technology initiatives are appropriately documented and meet Army guidelines for the procurement of Information Technology investments. Locate in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Major duties

Serve as a SME for the operation of the Information Technology Approval System (ITAS) and the ITAS waiver approval process. Identify requirements to accomplish current and planned tasks in support of the G-6 mission. Lead and participate in task forces, study groups, and symposiums to analyze and develop approaches, strategies, and policies. Interpret and apply Federal, Defense, Army and organization’s policies and guidance as related to ITIA. Support the development of organizational policies and procedures for implementation from higher level authorities and guidance.

Qualification

This position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 2 years by a CURRENT PERMANENT Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing advice on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues; conducting analysis and compile reports on metrics and recommends improvements on Information Technology Systems such as Information Technology Approval System (ITAS); utilizing management principles and practices to schedule, prioritize, control funding and manpower resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Strategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
